In life, and push ups, variety is the spice

by Justin Qualler on December 8, 2009

I’d forgotten how beneficial the push up was until I started doing Chris Caracci’s Navy Seal workout a month ago. I know it’s been making a difference because people at work have been staring at my chest inquisitively and then asking, “push ups?”

I just give them that confident head nod that says more than words ever could.

But the just doing the standard push up gets old. Up, down. Up, down. So you can modify your hand position, or you can try this fun routine I got from Benny “The Jet” Urquidez.

Do one push. Get up. Turn around.
Do two push ups. Get up. Turn around.
Do three push ups. Get up turn around.

Continue this way until you get to ten. Then go back down to nine, then eight, seven, etc.

Don’t bother counting how many that is. It’s quite a few. Soon, you’ll be getting those inquisitive stares at your chest. But you’ll know how to handle it.
