The Power of Progression

Ever notice Americans have no patience? Always racing ahead. And it’s not just racing ahead, it’s racing ahead at the expense of someone, or something, else. Sometimes, even, yourself.

In exercise, people race ahead to be something they are not, so they do exercises that their body isn’t ready for but their mind neurotically wants to attain. Maybe that neurosis isn’t in the individual. Maybe it’s in the culture. I suspect it is.

People who race ahead inevitably fall behind. Tortoise and the hare. You’re here. You want to get there. What’s in between? Figure it out, attain it, and you’ll get there faster. That’s the power of progression.
