It was a yellow envelope with some Hebrew writing on there, shipped to me from a man I never met who lived in Israel. Inside was an Alan Calvert strength bulletin, #48.

In that bulletin I read how you could build strength, power, and health simply by holding your body properly.

But the information was incomplete.

It wasn’t until years later when I read Warrior’s Way by Jon Hansen that I connected all the dots and had a way to practically use the information.

You can build yourself simply by living an active life and holding yourself in proper posture.

It’s really that simple. Sure there are some diet things. (But I’m not talking about living like a saint here. Don’t worry.)

Just holding yourself in the right posture is a start and you’ll feel it. But unless you’re moving enough you’re a ticking time bomb. There’s a simple solution to that: the 30 minute daily brisk walk.

For Baseline Fitness the main exercises are the 30 minute daily brisk walking and holding your body in isometric structure.

Walking is the #1 vitality builder. If you do 30 minutes daily brisk walking you reduce your risk of heart attack, stroke, and diabetes.

But if you walk in isometric structure, you do all those things plus you develop strength and athleticism at the same time.

Shoulders down and back, correct pelvic tilt…ready to brisk walk for 30 minutes. Use the treadmill to get the pace, then head out into nature.

I can see your raised eyebrow. Your skepticism. A walking habit? Isometric structure? What the hell is isometric structure?

Isometric structure describes a process of repatterning your body to use your muscles to hold yourself in proper posture, instead of slumping.

You don’t need a 200 page book to change. Nor do you need a complicated program. In fact, the more complicated it gets, the less likely you are to follow it.
